The absolute peak of stadium volume explodes in a thunderous, spine-tingling crescendo during the final verse on the legendary declaration "Idha ash-sha'bu yawman arada al-hayah, fala budda an yastajib al-qadar" (If the people one day desire life, then fate must respond), with the entire crowd collectively punching the air in perfect synchronization. A compelling piece of history behind this anthem is that while the text was originally penned in the 1930s by Egyptian poet Mustafa Sadiq al-Rafi'i, it was later expanded to include these iconic revolutionary verses by the revered Tunisian national poet Aboul-Qacem Echebbi. Set to a grand, march-like melody composed by Mohammed Abdel Wahab, the anthem was temporarily replaced after independence but officially restored on November 12, 1987, forever cementing its place as the ultimate musical symbol of Tunisian resilience, pride, and national sovereignty before kickoff.
