Өркүндөй бер, өсө бер,
Өз тагдырың колуңда.
Transliteration:
Ak möñgülüü aska zoolor, talaalar,
Elibizdin jany menen barabar.
Sansyz kylym Ala-Toosun mekendep,
Saktap keldi bizdin ata-babalar.
Algalay ber, kyrgyz el,
Azattyktyn jolunda.
Örkündöy ber, ösö ber,
Öz tagdyryñ koluñda.
Translation
Land of snow-capped mountains, cliffs, and steppes,
Which are equal to the souls of our people.
For countless centuries our forefathers
Have lived in and protected the Ala-Too.
March on, O Kyrgyz people,
Along the path of freedom.
Flourish and grow,
Your destiny is in your hands.

Adopted in 1992 shortly after gaining independence from the Soviet Union, Kyrgyzstan's national anthem was originally composed with three verses. However, in 2012, Parliament officially removed the controversial second verse—which spoke about open-heartedness toward friends—to streamline the song and eliminate ambiguities. When performed before international football matches, teams sing the official shortened version consisting of the remaining verses and the signature chorus that calls on the nation to advance toward freedom and progress.
