Waṭanī l-Kuwaytu salimta li-l-majdi
Wa-ʿalā jabīnika ṭālaʿa s-saʿdu

Translation:
My homeland Kuwait, may you be safe and glorious,
And upon your forehead rests good fortune!

- Adopted on February 25, 1978, under Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Kuwait's national anthem replaced the earlier Amiri Salute to mark National Day with a modern national song. The lyrics were written by the prominent Kuwaiti poet and cultural pioneer Ahmad Meshari Al-Adwani, with music composed by Ibrahim Al-Soula and arranged by Ahmad Ali. Ahmad Meshari Al-Adwani played a central role in Kuwait's cultural evolution, helping establish the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters. His verses reflect the history, peace, and determination of Kuwait's ancestors.
