Embracing the spirit of Mount Paektu,

A firm will united in truth,
We shall lead the whole world forward.
With surging power, cutting through raging waves,
A country established by the will of the people,

• Written in 1947 shortly after liberation, North Korea’s national anthem shares the exact same English title name (Aegukka) as South Korea's anthem, but features entirely distinct lyrics and music. When DPR Korea plays in international sporting events such as the AFC Asian Cup or FIFA World Cup, the instrumental arrangement is typically performed without vocal tracks. Notably, the lyrics emphasize the country's ancient 5,000-year history, natural landscape, and Mount Paektu rather than political figures.
